    Description

Here we have an extremely rare early painted metal trump marker used in the game of bridge and dating to the 19th Century.
A handsome male pug dog holds the card markers and he sports a red buckle collar with great fur details, painted eyes, wonderful wrinkles and a tightly curled tail.
All the physical attributes are there that this breed is noted for.
A nice metal harp holds the set of six plastic or celluloid flip cards with all of the suits and the no trump one.
The pug measures 4 1/2 inches tall by 5 inches long and 2 inches wide with the harp adding another 2 inches making the total height 6 1/2 inches.
It is in wonderful condition for its age and use with just a very few light paint rubs.
There is light indent on the back of the head that looks to be done in the making.
These trump markers are rarely seen and in my 35+ years of collecting this is the only Pug one I have ever seen anywhere.
